The connections between our cover stars continue to multiply—without us even meaning for it to happen. Here’s a peek at how these creative masters have crossed paths.
Fred + Wayne
Aside from Fred’s initial Wayne shoutout in our first issue (“I look at Wayne Coyne and go, ‘that’s the way to live.’”), the pair have collaborated a few times over the years. In 2008, Fred played a role in the Flaming Lips’ film Christmas on Mars, and in 2014, Funny or Die brought them together again to depict what would happen if Fred replaced Wayne as the lead singer of the Lips.
